Before you complete an enquiry form...
Please ensure the lines or structures affecting your site are Transpower National Grid assets. To be sure, you can check your property HERE.
Please ensure you have the correct documents to attach. These documents will need to be in PDF format. You cannot submit an enquiry unless you provide all requested documents. Required documents are listed at the beginning of each form, which generally include:
- A site plan and elevations (to scale) of your proposed building or subdivision; and
- Details of any existing Transpower easements or consent notices attached to the certificate of title; and
- Evidence of compliance with NZECP34:2001 requirements.
To obtain evidence of NZECP compliance, you will need to contact your local Transpower Landowner Liaison Officer. Click HERE to find them.
Alternatively, you can engage an electrical engineer to undertake an NZECP clearance assessment for your proposal. Please be aware that this has a charge associated with it and Transpower engineers are required to formally review the assessment which can take several weeks. If you would like to pursue this option, there are specific consultants that can do these assessments. You can find these on the contacts page.
You can also find out which NZECP requirements apply for your site by submitting a generic enquiry via Form 1A. For substation setbacks however, please use Form 4.
